With Shaka Smart leaving for the head coaching job at Marquette University the Longhorns have been on the search for a new coach and they have found it by stealing Chris Beard from Texas Tech.
An inside source with knowledge of the situation told the Austin American-Statesman that a deal has been reached with Beard to become the next men’s college basketball coach of the Longhorns. A Texas Tech school official also confirmed the news to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
Beard is a fan of country music so I reckon he’ll be a KOKE-FM fan.
