Sam Ehlinger is leaving the University of Texas and will enter the 2021 NFL draft. The announcement was made via a heartfelt video released on his Twitter feed Sunday afternoon.
Ehlinger, a Westlake High School alum, is leaving his post as statistically the second best QB in Texas Football history, behind Colt McCoy. Ehlinger finishes his season with 27-16 record as a four-year starter.
Although technically he has one year of eligibility remaining because of the pandemic, rumors swirled early that this would be his last.
Ehlinger was sidelined during the second half of the Alamo Bowl on Tuesday because of a shoulder injury.
