Blake Shelton has had a busy week. Earlier this week he was featured on a new song with John Anderson, “Tuesday I’ll be Gone”. The song is a single for Anderson’s upcoming album, “Years” set to be released on April 10th. Dan Auberbach, from band The Black Keys, co-produced the album and co-wrote the songs. The video features Shelton and Anderson singing in the studio with a yellow hue and background images of nature.
Shelton then took another musical direction when he teamed up with Miami-based rapper, Pitbull, for his song, “Get Ready”. If it sounds familiar, it’s because it samples the 1977 song, “Black Betty”. The inspiration for the song came when Pitbull ran into Shelton’s dog, Black Betty, after a concert in Oregon. The music video starts on a country front porch with Pitbull stating, “This from the 305 Miami.” The video then proceeds to cut between Shelton singing the “Black Betty” hook in a honky-tonk while Pitbull sings his parts in front of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
Blake Shelton continues to work as he is currently on tour with “Friends and Heroes Tour 2020” with artists John Anderson, Trace Adkins, The Bellamy Brothers, and Lauren Alaina. He is also a voice coach on the series, “The Voice”, which is set to premiere it’s 18th season on February 24th.
