Songwriters Across Texas will honor Bob Cole for his enduring devotion to Texas music and Texas Songwriters. Bob Cole is a true Texas songwriter crusader.
Entertainment for the occasion will showcase some of Texas’s finest songwriter talents:
Kinky Friedman is a Texas icon and a man of many hats – trailblazer Country Outlaw singer songwriter pioneer, honky tonk ‘rebel-rouser’, author, devote animal lover, and almost politician, all wrapped up in his Kinkster style satire and humor. Although, like a fine wine, he may have mellowed a bit, the Kinkster is still the Kinkster.
Sonny Throckmorton, legendary county music award winning singer songwriter artist, Member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Songwriter of the Year, BMI Songwriter of the year and a Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association inductee, is one of the most successful songwriters country music has ever known, with over a thousand songs recorded by country music artists.
Rick Trevino, grammy award winner Country music artist, grew up in a musical family, taking classical piano at 5 years old. He planted his musical roots firmly in the Country Music culture, which as a Texan, he considers a way of life, his way of life. By the time he was in his early 20’s, Rick took Country Music by storm and never looked back.
Join us for the celebration at Come and Take It Live, 7pm-12am.
