If you have logged on to your computer or scrolled thru your phone recently, there’s a good chance you have seen the “giant chicken”…because the internet is OBSESSED!
Is this for real? Or is it a kid in a chicken suit? Is it a super chicken?
Well, it isn’t #FAKECHICKENNEWS…
It is real. The guy who posted the original video lives in Kosovo. It’s a breed called a Brahma chicken, which can weigh up to 18 pounds. But they look even bigger because of their feathers.
Here are a few more characteristics of the Brahma:
- The Brahma is a massive, stately bird. When standing, it should almost appear to form a V, and should stand fairly tall—males more than females. Feet should be strong, with feathers extending all the way down the middle toe, and plumage should be held more tightly than in the Cochin.
- Their average weight is 12 lb for cocks and 9.9 lb for hens.
- The Brahma is a good winter layer of large brown eggs.
Someone did a very rough calculation, and figured out that if McDonald’s got their hands on it, they could make somewhere around 500 Chicken McNuggets.
