A man in Alberta, Canada has lost 326 pounds after his experience being caught in a wildfire inspired him to change.
His name is Tony Bussey – and in May of 2016 – he had to be evacuated from his home because of a raging fire. He weighed 567 pounds and it took several of the firemen to help get him out of his home – and he needed two seats on the airplane used to evacuate him.
Bussy said he remembered thinking – somebody’s family member is waiting for their loved ones to come home and they are having to wait longer because of me.
That’s when he started his quest to lose weight…
He has lost 326 pounds – all naturally, no surgery – just watching what he eats and walking.
His next goal is to run a marathon. He wants to do it in three years, on the fifth anniversary of the fire.
“The fire, for all the destruction, and for all the hell that it caused… it saved my life,” Bussey said.
“I was 41 when I started this, almost 600 pounds. If I can do this, anyone can.”
