It is being reported that country music singer-songwriter Earl Thomas Conley has passed away at the age of 77.
Blake Shelton tweeted “My heart is absoultely destroyed today…I’m sad to report that Earl Thomas Conley passed away very early this morning. Earl was my all time favorite singer, hero and my friend. Prayers to his family. We will all miss you deeply my brother. Now go rest….”
Earl’s brother, Fred Conley, confirms to the Tennessean that the singer passed away at 12:20AM on Wednesday in Nashville. He had been in hospice care for several months and was suffering from a condition similar to dementia.
Conley was well known for his country hits “Holding Her and Loving You,” “What I’d Say” and “Right From the Start.”
