TRAFFIC COORDINATOR

The Traffic Coordinator works collaboratively with Local and National Sales, Traffic and Continuity to maximize efficiencies and revenue. This position reports to the Business Operations Manager. This is a full time, salaried position with benefits.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Daily sales order entry into the traffic system
  • Effectively working the log to ensure good rotation and maximizing revenue on stations
  • Continuity
  • Backup support to the Traffic Manager
  • Obtaining local invoices for clients/agencies as needed
  • Working with the national offices to obtain missing copy and instructions
  • Coordinate endorsements and “live reads” with talent, program directors and production
  • Generating contract confirmations, reports related to revenue, ratings, and inventory
  • Responding to client and rep firm requests, e.g., spot times
  • Resolve order and inventory problems by investigating data and history; identifying alternate means for filling orders; notifying managers and customers
  • Knowledge and competency on all stations in group

    Qualifications:

  • Radio or television experience in the traffic department and knowledge of the Marketron Traffic System, or similar system, is preferred
  • Possess innovative problem solving and decision-making skills to achieve station goals and work with sales representatives to efficiently accommodate advertisers and maintain revenue
  • Dependable and responsible, display excellent attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office products
  • Demonstrate ability to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Maintain professional demeanor, proven ability to multi-task amid constant interruptions, and a positive outlook

Internships

The Austin Radio Network internship program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about radio broadcasting, marketing, events, and other broadcast duties within ARN.

Requirements: Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and must receive school credit – NO exceptions. Students must be 18 years. Minimum GPA of 2.0.

General Information: Internships are offered year round and coincide with school semesters. Interns work approximately 20-25 hours/week depending on school requirements. Flexible scheduling depending on department needs. All interns must comply with internship guidelines and are subject to applicable ARN employee rules.

We are currently seeking KOKE-FM Morning Show/Promotions interns. If you are interested in the radio business, this is a great place to build experience!

As an intern, you will be working in a high-energy, fast paced environment assisting the producers/air talent/promotions coordinators with events and custom marketing programs.

Interns will assist in the day-to-day internal & external operations of radio stations and help with other stations, as needed. KOKE-FM interns will work directly with the on-air staff producers preparing materials for the broadcast, updating station website, audio editing, researching show content, managing social media, setting up equipment, assisting the marketing/promotions departments with prizing, copy writing, calendar updates, listener relations, street team events, and performing a few administrative tasks.

This internship is unpaid, and you must receive college credit.
